I am looking at various topics on W3Schools, and in their examples I keep seeing this META tag:
CODE
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

Is this so a web page fits any device?
So if I want a web page that crosses all device platforms, I need this??

Yes, it makes pages easier to view on mobile screens. There's an illustration of this at the bottom of http://quirksmode.org/mobile/viewports2.html
