I note that in the Forum lists, under Databases, you list Access and several other db's - does anyone use the OpenOffice.org Base program for database work, particularly in conjunction with Web pages?

From my limited expereince of Base, it seems very much like Access in look and feel, but, of course, has the advantage of being open source software. I have used the rest of Open Office (wordprocessing, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings)for years and swear by it, but I haven't had the time to really test out Base, so I would like some feedback before committing to it in Web design.

Kind regards, James

Hi Brian - You have answered my question, even though I did not make clear what I was on about, when you asked: "do many hosting services offer oooBase?" , and, of course, the answer at the moment is prbably "No"

I saw "Access" there on the list and, without thinking it through, thought "If I am thiking of migrating my Access applications to OOo Base in other areas of my work, why not in Web design to?", but as you say, the hosting service has to provide the facility for this to happen.

Thanks, James
