Hello, new here and didn't want to start a new topic as I have a similar problem.

I'm working on my FIRST wordpress theme creation and got it pretty close to completion only to find that it is all out of whack in Safari and Chrome.

Can't figure out what I've done wrong but here is the link to check it out http://www.caseyweston.com/

ISSUE:
As you will see in Firefox and IE the navigation looks correct but in safari and chrome its pushed down some .. also the footer is acting different in chrome/safari.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

This sounds like a different problem, so I made it a separate topic.

The only difference I notice between FF, Opera, and Safari is when the minimum font size forces your content to overflow the background image. But positioning content over a background image is a particularly fragile way to design a web page anyway, for exactly that reason: You don't really know how big your content is going to be.

Thank you for your response.

Would it be fair for me to ask you to elaborate slightly, I'm not completely grasping what you are telling me.

Thanks again.

The only difference I notice between FF, Opera, and Safari is when the minimum font size forces your content to overflow the background image.

In Safari and Chrome each menu item's height is doubled, making their background images to repeat vertically.

The menu appears to be some variant of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahrner_Image_Replacement but the page contains too much content to make debugging easy. Could you make a minimal test case (i.e., just the menu and its related CSS) for us?

Also the embedded Flash at the top is broken: in Opera9 I'm asked to upgrade my Flash player, in IE8 and Chrome I get white boxes (not the same though), in Safari I get two copies of the image with the VW bus, in Firefox nothing.
