I'm looking for a routine or function that allows for floating popups when the pointer is placed over a hot spot on a client-side image map. Currently there are plenty of sources for code out there that show a popup when floating over a text URL or an IMG URL, but when putting a mouse pointer over an image map the same code does not work. Even when declaring the image map an OBJECT rather than just a basic <img>.

Is this something for which there is an off-the-shelf solution? I've checked dojo and jQuery but can't find what I'm looking for. I feel like I've seen this behavior out there but I don't remember where I saw it. Can this be investigated? We'll find a way to apply it to all of our image maps, but I need the code or routine or function call to get it done to begin with.

You mean something like at http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menu/solar_map or at http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menu/tooltips ?

Can you post the URL (address) of your page?

Yes I mean something like that. I posted an example page down below. I would like to make it so that any of those clickable links can have a popup window similar to the ones you posted that contains an image of a heating part. A solution would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks.
