It's that specific image, the screen cap from yesterday. Didn't this happen once before? It's just a small JPG created with the same software as I've used a hundred years.

I used Windows Snipping Tool. But I recall having problems before as well.
Try opening the faulty image file (in what is called, binary mode?) and check if the software adds something in it. Not that I can see why the forum would care. |

Don't think I have a binary editor anymore. And IV is what I always use. Why would it f*** single images up? And IV even discovers (and offers to correct to some extent) some errors other editors have done.
I'll re-save the same image and see if I can upload it then. |

Now it dawned on me that this happened to me at another forum. But there it was worse. It was a specific image in a specific thread.

How about opening the file in a text editor's Binary mode?
What if you open the non-working file in Irfanview and resave it? |

Told you I don't have a binary editor.
BTW the image that didn't work at the other forum was a photo, so it wasn't saved by IV. |

Textpad has that option when opening files, I thought it was a common feature.
