Hi all!
New , really 2020 fresh, in code, thus HTML. If this is not the correct section, my apologies. I've also searched for "video responsive" and it seems nothing relevant appear. My problem is that I want to add background video to my website ( www.oceansfoursailing.com/index_NC.html ). In spite of the fact that I'm somehow satisfied with the result on desktop I have a few issues with: 1- On my phone, when on portrait, the video only shows the central part of the video. Is it possible to resize the video to appear all the image on portrait? The thing is that I have titles that will not show correctly if on portrait. If you put your phone in landscape then all the video is there! 2- Regarding the video quality I've exported with lowest quality possible (540p, low quality settings on iMovie) resulting in a ±40Mb MP4. Then I took advantage of onlinehtml5videoconverter.com and the file is now ±20Mb. My question is: Is there any other way, preferably more clever, to convert video files? 3- Also, regarding the "call Joana now" text, it doesn't appear on portrait, in spite of it's centred on desktops. Thank you!!! This post has been edited by zaco: Jan 26 2020, 07:56 AM |

I probably can't answer your questions but am I supposed to see a video play at that site? 'Cause I don't.

Hi Pandy!
Thanks for caring. You're right: my mistake. The correct address is now https://www.oceansfoursailing.com/index-en.html I'll edit also the original post. Thanks again! Let me also tell you that I've removed the titles from the video. Tell me if you'd like to see the titles and I'll change it. This post has been edited by zaco: Jan 27 2020, 03:54 AM |

I don't know. But the video doesn't adapt in size in a desktop browser window either. It gets cut from the sides as I drag the window more narrow.
If you use only width 100% and leave the height off, it will scale to a certain, rather small, size, then cropping starts. As said, I don't know much about video. |
