Just recently discovered that while domains are not case sensitive, URLs are. Is there any simple way to use .htaccess to configure an Apache server so that (Domain URL)/Whatever equals (Domain URL)/whatever ? (small w vs capital W) Thereby making the page idiot proof for the general public.

I would like this to be a universal rule for all requests to the server, not just one specific page.

The Apache Module mod_speling can issue redirections to fix simple typos, including discrepancies between upper-case and lower-case letters.

To see it in action, visit

and watch what happens to the URL in your address bar.
