HTMLHelp Forums _ Off Topic _ Computers are odd

I have a shortcut on my desktop to the goanna based version of k-meleon. Appropriately named "k-meleon goanna". All of a sudden it had changed name to "htmlhelp".

How do these things happen? I never even type the whole word htmlhelp in the addressbar of a browser or anywhere else. And even if I did, how would that cause a shortcut to be renamed?

I don't expect an answer really. I just want to vent my confusion. wacko.gif

You mean I happened to slow double click the shortcut and type there when I meant to type in the address bar? Nah. mad.gif

I seem to remember that when Windows loses a file type association, the icon can change. What happens if you double click the shortcut? Does the correct program load? I can't remember the text changing.

Yup. The program started as usual. It was only the name of the shortcut that changed.
