Hi there, does anyone have an idea why this logo might be appearing pixelated?

Its a png file that I created in Illustrator?

Is it the fact that its a png thats the problem, what else could I use instead so that I still get the transparent background?

Thanks

It doesn't look like the text is anti-aliased. Anti-aliasing will smooth the edges.

What size is the native file? And it's a jpg not a png.

With as few colors as you have, a gif would be a better option and more browser friendly.

If you did it in Illustrator, you may need to outline the text before exporting it.

Here's what I would do to use that file. Make sure that the select all size is the same size as you want it on the webpage. Right now the jpg is showing up as 390 px by 75px (1.3inx.25in) at 300dpi.

If that's the dimensions you want then I would do the following in the native illustrator .ai file. NOT the png, jpg or any other format.

Select All

Create Outlines (Shift, Ctrl, O) not zero

Export for web use (Alt, Shift, Ctrl, S) Newer Illustrators I think it's a check box in save not a separate save window. (this will save it to 72 dpi helping your page load faster)

Save as GIF 128 (or play with the options to see which you like best, it should allow you to preview the web version)

use the file you saved...ie logo.gif.
