I will be learning Java soon, haven't tried either yet but have to try and decide soon for the textbook and class.

Do you like NetBeans or Eclipse better, and why?

As my practical experience NetBeans is best for Java platform and Eclipse is best for Android platform.

So far yes NetBeans is way better than Eclipse, we barely use Eclipse in class. I have not done any Android yet, but wouldn't Android Studio be the best option for that?
