There is too much of it. Is it not possible to set new users to require moderation for the first post?

Hello? Hello? Is there anyone there?

There is too much spam. I don't know anything about the admin side of this software (though I sympathathise with whoever has to), but it should surely be possible to prevent people signing on and immediately flooding the forums with one post each. E.g. only one post allowed until approved, or something...

It's not that hard for us to remove multiple spam posts (but I agree it looks bad before they're removed). Also premoderation wouldn't stop spambots that wait days or weeks after posting before adding sig spam links to their old posts (sometimes it seems such spammers make up the majority of the spam accounts).

But it should be possible to make a better anti-spambot question during the signup process, apparently spambots have no trouble getting past the current one.

If they're bots a hidden field in the registration form does wonders.

If the hidden field is filled in(which any self respecting bot will obligingly do), discard the registration.

Works wonders on regular contact forms for me.
