I'm trying to tell customers that their coupon code will end 3 days from today's date. But don't know how to do so using HTML code.

With just HTML you must write it manually.

If you want the date to adjust automatically to the three days after they got the code, you need some kind of scripting (javascript, or better a server-side script like PHP).

You can't. You need a programming language. Either JavaScript or something server side.

Also, 3 days mean what? 72 hours from now? Or if it's the 15th today the coupon will be good until midnight the 18th? If the latter is that in the customer's time zone, the server's or something else?

Yes, for example, if the customer received an email on June 15th, we would say that the coupon expires on June 18th.

I'm using MailChimp email platform, not sure if it take javascript.

It seems they have an add-on service called CouponCarrier that lets you set expiration dates.
