Ruby on Rails is the big hype now, but everybody seems to try it out then quit after a year or two. It's great for simple websites, with nothing more than a mailing list and a simple administration tool. But if you want an more "evolved" website, I've found that good ol' PHP works best for me. Plus, I also have more experience PHP. So I have decide that I'll stick with RoR for my simple websites, and for the advance ones I'll pop out PHP. But my question is to you, should I or should I not use a PHP framework (like cakePHP), and which one?

Can't help directly, but I'd be interested in hearing feedback if you do try cakePHP or whatever.

My guess is that there's a lot of personal taste involved, but that once you really learn to use any of these frameworks it's well worth it. (On the other hand, who knows?)
