I have: dreamweaver *3 days left on trial* Here is what I need: Free *if its not rethink your attack plan* Easy to work with *simple very simple* It doesn't need to be able to process hundreds of forms or stuff per day. Or week. It needs to be able to have a log in system It needs to be able to work on a local/network basis |

Is your server Windows or Linux? If linux, use PHP, or ASP for windows. (But some of the newer windows servers support PHP. Ask your hosting company about that if you do have windows.)
P.S. Buy dreamweaver. It can be pretty useful for scripting. This post has been edited by CodeKing: Nov 14 2006, 04:49 PM |

The original poster, I suspect, was asking these questions in order to get help with a homework assignment he was given. The requirement that his solution be *free* strongly suggests one of your recommendations over the other. The professor gave other clues as well. Chances are, though, the OP has moved on to other homework assignments.

IIRC, DW uses source code highlighting, and has similar features to visual studio, in that you can get argument info about the standard lib functions/class methods, as you're writing. I think there's more, in that DW will parse the code to help you debug without running the code on the server. I'm not sure on the last bit there.
