HTMLHelp Forums _ Cascading Style Sheets _ Noobie CSS question

Posted by: TW Allen Apr 17 2021, 12:33 PM

I'm building my first website with basic HTML and CSS (no Dreamweaver, etc. help).

Everything is going pretty well, as a matter of fact, things are going GREAT. The files are much smaller, load much faster and are readable on a phone, which is very important to me because most of my clients use Google on their phone to find me.

I have one problem that I cannot solve. Please see: allendesigns.com/projects.html. When I view that file on my desktop, it looks fine. However, when I look at it on my phone, the fonts in the table are not consistent. What could be causing this?

Thank you

In what way are they not consistent?

On my phone, the text in far right column is much larger than the other two columns.

Not on my phone. Looks fine. FF on Android.

You have the most peculiar problems! tongue.gif

Enabled Chrome, wise from your last problem. There we have it. What's with you and Chrome? wink.gif

You have quite a few HTML errors. But I don't see how they can cause this and only in chrome.

I see it neither in Iron nor Vivaldi on desktop. Alas it's impossible to test on mobile without uploading to a server. All I can suggest is that you fix the errors. One never knows. And it needs to be done anyway.

Sorry 'bout that. I promised myself I would never again submit a problem or a file with errors in it. I REALLY have learned my lesson (head down, tail tucked between my legs).

Fixing the errors did not change the display on my phone (Android).

Here is a screen shot from my phone.

I get an error "The total filespace required to upload all the attached files is greater than your per post or global limit. Please reduce the number of attachments or the size of the attachments."

Yeah, that's annoying. I had to cut mine down. The attachment size should be updated to something more realistic, I think.

My fireside was smaller than what was shown as the limit.
