I need some serious help building my web page that's not online at this time and won't be until I learn how to do the following that I'm begging for help.

I want to add a slide show that begins as soon as the site opens. I have tried numerous slide shows and entered the code where the instructions said but nothing happens. I also want to add a ticker that I can change the news/announcements at random and not a ticker with national/local news. Last, I want to upload the web site I have built on PowerPoint. Now for the problems:

Powerpoint usually won't upload and when it does, I can't get it to open in GeoCities. The html codes that I have for the slide show and for the news ticker states to add one to the body and one to the beginning but I have no idea where that should be added. I have tried adding the code to place designated by Geocities but nothing happens. I pay for the GeoCities site and it allows flash, java script and PowerPoint but when I call them, I always get someone that doesn't know a thing about what to do and their instructions are Greek to me. I would love to have step by step instructins as to what to do with the programs to make them work. PLEASEEE help me. Thank you.

Well, no better place to start than the beginning. happy.gif

If you can't follow the instructions about where to insert the copy-paste code, you really need to learn basic HTML first. Sorry, but that's how it is.

I don't think a Powerpoint slideshow is going to play over the internet. At least not universally.

Geocities said PowerPoint could be added and edited. Now to the other response.....I have books on HTML. All I wanted to know was where I added the code on Geocities to make my scripts work. GeoCities has 3 places to add scripts. Thanks for your response.

Geocities can say whatever they like, but I can tell you not a lot of people will have PP or a PP plug-in - if there is such a thing. And it they're relying on a PP run-time, it also will probably not work in a lot of browsers. But go ahead anyway.
As for Geocities support, i'd suggest looking there for better help in that regard.

Are you asking where to add the code not in the HTML but in Geo's editor? In that case I have no idea and probably jimlongo doesn't either. But he might surprise us! tongue.gif
