So, I've finally got a layout that looks how I want with firefox, and netscape but for some reason in internet explorer the background is white instead of black, and there's a slice of white at the bottom of the screen. Anyone know how to fix this so the center background is black in internet explorer? and also how to get rid of the weird bit of white at the bottom that's showing up?

I recommend that you start by fixing the HTML errors reported by the online validator.

Why that weird comment at the top of the page that deliberately puts IE into quirks mode?

Asura,
Instead of all of the effort that you are putting into creating this site by hand, may I suggest that you look into the free Wordpress Blog software? You could use it to do exactly what you are trying to lay out here, but it will be much more standards based, flexible and simpler to publish to. John |
