TUMBLR theme HTML help needed? Options

I would like to know what HTML to put where in order to solve a few problems I've been having.

1) The theme does not allow me to put HTML or non-text symbols and characters in the description box nor the title. This disables me from putting in custom links and codes, etc; which I would like to do.

2) I would like to know if there's a way for this theme to resize video posts to that they stay inside the white borders like the pictures and text posts stay. Because, as of right now, when I post videos they stick right out of the border and look funny.
