Hi,
Recently i've started to build a website. I've linked all my photo's right, and they are in the directory ../images/name.jpg etc. While i check the website out in mozilla firefox or internet explorer (offline mode), it works fine. The pictures are shown as they should. When i upload all the files to my webhost, they dont seem to work.. Could some one please help me out with this issue? Its important! Thanks in advance! luck7 PS: Code of images below. CODE <div class="contentsection dark" style="background:url(images/mastimag.jpg) 50% 50px no-repeat;"> <div class="content"> <div class="stage"> <h1>Foto's</h1> <p class="callout"></p><br> <div id="contentright"> <div id="slideshow" class="flexslider"> <ul class="slides"> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun1.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li> <img alt="project" src="images/fun2.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li> <img alt="project" src="images/fun3.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li> <img alt="project" src="images/fun4.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li> <img alt="project" src="images/fun5.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun6.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun7.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun8.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun9.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun19.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun11.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun12.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun13.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun14.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun15.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun16.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun17.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun18.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun19.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun20.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun21.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun22.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun23.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun24.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun25.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun26.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun27.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun28.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun29.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun30.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun31.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun32.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun33.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun34.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun35.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun36.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun37.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun38.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun39.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun40.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> <li><img alt="project" src="images/fun41.jpg" class="roid"/> <p class="flex-caption">Pronto Borger</p> </li> </ul> </div> |

Well, the images aren't where you say, not under the names you use in the image tags anyway.
http://www.pronto-borger.nl/images/fun1.jpg Could it be a problem with case? If you are on Windows it would work anyway even if different case is used in the src and the actual file name, but probably not on the server. |

Because they are in that directory on ftp. Domains > pronto-borger.nl > public_html > images > fun1.jpg, fun2.jpg etc etc.. I've also tried other img src's like <img src="../images/fun1.jpg" /> or <img src="../public_html/images/fun1.jpg" /> and much more. None of them seem to work. EDIT: No they are just called like they are linked. fun1.jpg and not Fun1.jpg This post has been edited by luck7: Oct 3 2013, 08:45 AM |

That's the one permutation I didn't bother to try! That and camel case.
Problem solved then. I'd rename the files rather than change the URL. Lower case file names make life easier. |

When i try to change .JPG to .jpg, it keeps changing to .JPG.. How is this possible? This is on my computer tho. But when i change it in FTP, it works! Thanks in advance! Damm silly mistakes :/ This post has been edited by pandy: Oct 3 2013, 01:58 PM |

That's odd. Do you rename them through program or do you click on the disk file and change the name that way?

But when i rightclick the images on my ftp, it does change. So i changed all the .JPG's into .jpg on ftp only. Not working local |

Strange. Never happened to me. Windows can be odd, but that sounds plain stupid.

When you rename a file fun22.JPG to fun22.jpg, Windows does not see any name change. You need to change the file extension by adding a letter, say 'x'. Then rename the file again to remove the 'x' from the extension. So, rename fun22.JPG to fun22.jpgx. Then rename it from fun22.jpgx to fun22.jpg and you are done.

Clever! But why can I do it without tricks and you (both of you?) can't? Another thing some people have problem with it giving files custom extensions, at least without registering them. I've always been able to do that too. These things annoy me. Windows IS odd!

I 'assumed' it was because Windows was not case-sensitive and I never looked into it. Windows has worked this way for as long as I can remember. But, as you say, it is strange that you can rename files without the extra step. |

Yup. There must be a reason, some setting where we have made different choices and it affects this.

Maybe it's the OS version? I just fired up my Windows 7 laptop and find that I do not have to take any extra steps to rename fun22.JPG to fun22.jpg. I guess MS fixed this in Win7 (maybe Vista too?). I was using XP when I posted my comment.

I'm also on XP. Worked on 2K too and, I think, even Win95.
