Mama mia! I'm scared! IPB Image
You have to tell me all about it since I don't run XP, nor do I intend to. mad.gif

Is it correct that it will be offered as a critical Windows update? In that case it will probably spread pretty fast.

Since it requires genuine Windows validation, maybe not as fast in the wild as in corporate desktops happy.gif

Ah, but maybe they see it as a security update and then everyone will get it anyway. Besides, I don't think the validation is much of a showstopper. The web was full of ways to get around it within days, IIRC.

The stinker is that it requires XP or Vista.

It's not being offered as an update in Windows Update at all, Express or Custom. Guess it hasn't migrated there yet.

Edit: It's RC1, it's not the release version of IE7.0

Yeah. It's a release candidate -- basically the final product, almost ready to be released, unless someone somewhere finds some fatal bugs. At this stage, everything is complete. What you see in the RC1 will be what you get when Windows update downloads and installs it.

You mean it's anti-microsoft of microsoft to force people to buy their latest OS to test-drive their new browser? I tend to agree. Thank heavens for VNC. laugh.gif

Of course you need A OS. What I'm saying is that I don't want to buy yet ANOTHER Windows OS to be able to test pages in their new flagship. rolleyes.gif
