HTMLHelp Forums _ Markup (HTML, XHTML, XML) _ Title Tag error

Posted by: Kal K Jul 11 2019, 11:32 PM

Hi, I have a strange issue with the title tag:

On my website
http://www.neverenoughcactus.com/

If you view the source, you see the title is <title>Never Enough Cactus - Los Angeles Cactus & Succulent Nursery</title>

However when you go to the site, on the top of the browser tab you see the title for a second, before it then changes to the URL instead.

What can I do to keep the title from the title tag in the browser tab and not have it change?

Thanks!

It looks like your JavaScript is updating the title element.

It isn't an especially good idea to have a totally JS dependent site, especially not for a business. Search engines don't have much to work with. The JS doesn't work at all in some browsers. For example older gecko versions (FireFox's engine) show a blank page, not even the title changes.

Thought you wanted to know.

Thanks! I agree, but I made the web page using Wix's editor. Eventually I will pay someone to recode it into HTML, but for now it's all I've got.

Thanks for the warning (about Wix).
