I used to choose my own firewall and disable the Windows one. Over the years they have became harder and harder to use in their strive to be easy and user friendly, at least to me. So with Windows 10 I just hadn't the stamina and have ran the inbuilt FW, without doing any changes.

Got a tip about TinyWall. It sort of sits on top of the Windows FW and it's extremely easy to control, as in the good old days. tongue.gif

It initially blocks everything and you have to add applications to its white list. That can be done in several ways. The easiest is to choose Whitelist by window from the tray icon's context menu and click in a window from the program you want to whitelist. Done! That doesn't work for all applications that maybe involve several executables, but for most. For really hard nuts there is a learning mode. You close everything else, run the problem program for a little while and then turn off learning mode. MS Edge is the only program I have needed to use this for. It's also possible to edit the whitelist and create more detailed rules.

I can't vouch for how good it is, but it has a good reputation. It's very likable and it's free, so I just wanted to post a tip about it.
