Hi everyone.

I designed a website for our band called The Offbeats. You folks helped me with some issues a few months back, for which I am most grateful. I added some video and audio clips to the site using the following code for a song called, Lucille.

<td class="mp3name">Lucille</td><td ><audio controls src="lucille.mp3"></audio>

When PC users open the audio clip on the web page, they see three vertical dots that allow them to download, alter the playback speed, or use the picture in picture feature for video content. iPad users are telling me there are no options to do any of these functions. They are of course using Safari as their browser. Is this a mistake in my coding or do they need to change their Safari options? Many thanks...

This appears to be related to the Firefox and Safari browsers. Google Chrome and Edge are no problem.

In Firefox/Gecko the additional controls appear if you right-click the player: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/html5-...-video-controls

iPad doesn't have right-click (or a mouse), but maybe something like long-pressing opens an additional menu?

Hi Christian,

We noted the right-click option and it works on a Mac and PC. I tried holding the play button down on the iPad and no additional controls appear. I think iPad and iPhone users need to download a third party app that has these controls by default. I don't know why there is an oversite on Apple's part. It's basic!

Thanks for chiming in.
