FWIW I have the latest FF 98.01.
Where to I find the error log? I only know about the crash report. In FF, right-click on the page, choose Inspector and click its Network tab (you may have to reload the page). You can also right-click directly on a broken image in order to go directly to its HTML element, at least assuming the browser has managed to create the IMG element in the first place (maybe that's where the bug is). |

Oh that. I thought you meant a written log, a file. Well, I don't get anything out of it and judging from the name/title of the error I don't think that's it. I tried to play an episode of a show. On the other hand I get the same error at Elgiganten. An getting LAST_SESSION_UPDATE from localStorage error, that is. The bulk of it of course is different.

That happens when the cache is emptied IIRC. No, that doesn't make any difference.
It isn't the whole world. Just annoying to have to switch browser. So far the two sites I mentioned are the only ones affected. But who knows, I haven't been around much the latest days. |

AdLibris doesn't work either. I can't figure out what the common denominator is. More than that all three sites likely use a sh*tload of scripts.

Do you use some kind of over-zealous adblocking? Did you find anything from the web inspector?
Now and then I find sites that don't work in Firefox, but I think that's because they only test in Chrome. |

No and no. It all started after the Windows update.
It's strange that it's only a few sites that are affected. All forums I use work. All big newspapers seem to work. I don't have a login to more than two, but given the situation I visit the others too to at least read the headlines. May be a lot more of course, but as said, I mainly visit the same sites these days. |

I mean, if an IMG element doesn't load its picture, there should be an error response in the Inspector (ditto for CSS background-images).
Or maybe the IMG/CSS doesn't have a URL, which would suggest a JS error. Or maybe the entire IMG element is missing, but then you should see the placeholders either. Wonder how Windows could break a single browser? Maybe I already asked, but do other Gecko-based browsers work? Have you tried reinstalling Firefox (I got a new update today, FWIW)? |

It isn't that simple. At Elgiganten text is also missing. At TV4Play everything looks normal, I see the thumbs for the shows and so on, but the box where the video should play is blank and stays blank. At AdLibris it was a general mess.
FF updated yesterday. Didn't make any difference. I use different browsers for different things anyway, just have to learn to use Edge for these sites. But a mystery is a mystery... |

Maybe something disturbed the Ajax content loading, or maybe the static HTML file itself has become corrupted? Sounds like something Windows might cause. I wouldn't be surprised actually, didn't they do something shifty against Opera once? |

Maybe other browsers work too. Just haven't bothered to try. Don't remember about Opera.
If you google "windows update firefox messed up" and similar you find A LOT. Didn't see my specific problem though. |

No, nothing else is worse. The posts are both new and old. Seems to have been an ongoing problem.
At one point I could try to uninstall FF and install it fresh. But I'm not there yet. |

This is very strange. A while ago the problem sites worked again. And the next day they did not.
Anyway, the problem is solved even if I still don't know what happened. I decided to uninstall FF install it fresh again. I've never uninstalled it before and discovered a feature called "Refresh Firefox" - it shows up when you click on Firefox in "Uninstall or change a program". It might help if you have problems, it says. And it did. Still wonder what MS did though. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refres...ns-and-settings |

This is very strange. A while ago the problem sites worked again. And the next day they did not. Wonder what could cause an intermittent software problem. How much inside a browser changes from one day to another, without downloading an explicit update? I suppose addons could auto-update, and maybe encryption certificates. There could also be common website third-party scripts that change now and then, that in turn could trig a bug in the browser. Sounds like nightmare trying to troubleshoot. |

A new one. I was manually putting my computer into hibernation. Starts as usual, then I'm informed that Windows is updating, please don't turn off the computer. When the update is about half through the computer turns itself off. I start it again to see how much I've lost and it continues the update where it left off and then starts up as normal.
I had saved more than I thought, so I didn't lose as much as I feared. But since when does the updater start without warning and when the computer is going into hibernation? I think it was that I was shutting down that triggered the updater - only I wasn't shitting down, I was hibernating. Or that was the plan. The updater should know the difference! I use hibernation a lot, let the machine automatically do it when inactive for a while. Now I'm afraid to if the updater can interrupt the process and turn the computer off the normal way. |

My biggest problem with Windows 10 is the update process. I have an Intel i7-7700 3.60 Ghz Quad Core computer. It takes me 2 1/2 to 3 hours to install 1 monthly update. What's going on? Am I the only one with this problem?

But since when does the updater start without warning Mine never does (I prevent it by choosing a metered Internet connection). But recently, just looking for new updates has made them download automatically anyway a couple of times. Maybe those patches were very small in size, can't say. I wouldn't rule out incompetence from Microsoft though. QUOTE and when the computer is going into hibernation? I think it was that I was shutting down that triggered the updater - only I wasn't shitting down, I was hibernating. Or that was the plan. Could it be that you chose to shut down by mistake in the Power menu? Has happened to me once or twice. QUOTE The updater should know the difference! Indeed, since some updates require a Windows reboot, hibernation doesn't suffice for that. So it makes no sense to start the update process when the user has just chosen to hibernate. If OTOH Microsoft (in its arrogance) thinks hibernation time is a good time to force a reboot update on the user, you'd assume Windows informed you about it, and also rebooted automatically as usual afterwards (hence why I suspect user error). |

Am I the only one with this problem? Doesn't happen to me with Win10, but it seems to be fairly common. Some suggestions here: https://www.windowscentral.com/why-windows-...es-take-so-long Win Vista OTOH became more and more dysfunctional the last year I used it, requiring all kinds of tricks to make the updater run at all. The official reason given sounded equally strange, someting about unavoidable increasing complexity in the updating software (alas I can't find any web pages about it now). |
