Hello. I'm a novice with HTML but can usually figure out what I need. I just use Notepad.
I have a website where I want the design to have two images running down either side, like columns, with the actual pages in the middle. I want the images and content separate, so that the page doesn't spill out over the images. I first tried using tables, but the problem I encounter is that this leaves a white "border" around the entire site. The background images each lay a few pixels away from the edge of the browser window. With space at a premium, I want to lose this effect and have everything flush. This is what I'm describing: http://www.buckyohare.org/testing/index.shtml The only solution I have found is to use frames, but I really don't want to do that, for a number of reasons. This is how that looks: http://www.buckyohare.org/testing2/index.htm Is there any way I can get the look of the second example with only one HTML page (and therefore not without resorting to frames)? Thank you very much! |

Please see the FAQ entry How do I eliminate the margins around my page?
Note that you really don't need the marginheight="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" attributes any longer. Just use the CSS. |
