Hello. I'm a novice with HTML but can usually figure out what I need. I just use Notepad.

I have a website where I want the design to have two images running down either side, like columns, with the actual pages in the middle. I want the images and content separate, so that the page doesn't spill out over the images.

I first tried using tables, but the problem I encounter is that this leaves a white "border" around the entire site. The background images each lay a few pixels away from the edge of the browser window. With space at a premium, I want to lose this effect and have everything flush. This is what I'm describing:

The only solution I have found is to use frames, but I really don't want to do that, for a number of reasons. This is how that looks:

Is there any way I can get the look of the second example with only one HTML page (and therefore not without resorting to frames)?

Thank you very much!

Please see the FAQ entry How do I eliminate the margins around my page?

Note that you really don't need the marginheight="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" attributes any longer. Just use the CSS.
