Hi,
Hope all is well.
Im validating my site with CSE HTML Validator Lite. Im getting a ton of errors for what I thought was the right HTML.
Maybe Ive gone round the bend so to speak

Heres the error,

The "name" attribute is not valid for the "div" element.

Its for this HTML,

<div style=
"position: absolute; left: 26px; top: 26px; z-index: 4043;" name=
"image0" id="image0">
<img style="margin: 0px;" width="95" height="122" src=
"/_wizardimages/JordanBizdraftAgain.jpg" alt=
"Jordan the SpywareBiz Mascot" title=
"Jordan the SpywareBiz Mascot">
</div>

I thought name= was the right way to do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My site is http://www.spywarebiz.com

Only a couple of elements (mainly form elements) take the name attribute. Use ID on everything else.

?

Don't worry. You don't have a ton of errors. You have just a few (the name attribute for the DIV is one of them). You may want to use a real validator. CSE isn't a validator, it just likes to call itself that. happy.gif

Here's the true validation result for your page.
http://www.htmlhelp.com/cgi-bin/validate.c...s&input=yes
You can also use W3C's validator.
http://validator.w3.org/

CSE's online checker tells me that W3C's index page has more than 20 errors and 4 warnings that the Pro version would have found. rolleyes.gif

Guess what? As one would expect, there are none. laugh.gif
http://www.htmlhelp.com/cgi-bin/validate.c...mp;warnings=yes

The index page for this site has, according to CSE, 3 errors and 1 warning. So fatal are they that they...
"could damage this web page's search engine rankings as well as cause viewing problems for visitors." Darin, DO something! Quick! tongue.gif

No need. You already have an id with the same value. happy.gif
