Hi there staff,

When going to My Controls > Personal Profile > Change Personal Photo...

IPB Image

... I find that neither "Enter a URL to an online photo image" nor
"upload a new image from your computer" are working.

The former gives this information...

QUOTE

The error returned was:

That is not a valid URL for your Photo. We do not allow dynamic pages in the IMG tags

...for this link...

http://www.coothead.co.uk/images/avatar-400x400.jpg

...and the latter just displays this...

Photo

Uploaded File (200 X 200)

Is this due to outdated software or just a gremlin in the works? unsure.gif

Hi there pandy,

thanks for the thumbs down IPB Image

While I am here, is a lack of email notification of replies to my posts also fucked up? IPB Image

No, not as I'm aware. I have notifications turned on and I get them.

I'm sorry I can't help more. But mods have limited access. We care, but we can't do anything.

I snatched that smilie. I used to love it but had lost it. I think it even was called the same. biggrin.gif

But then again I have notifications for all new posts turned on, so I guess I wouldn't notice if notification for replies to my posts didn't work... I just realized that. cool.gif

We have to ask Christan. He didn't use notifications last I heard, so he could test it.

We tested this a while ago (Staff link, for pandy's eyes only) and it seems I could get email notifications; but at irregular times, as if the forum sent out digests at random. unsure.gif

As for images, this one attachment didn't make it either: https://forums.htmlhelp.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=144786 I recall some image formats work better than others (JPG? PNG?) when uploading attachments.

That isn't actually true.

As I pointed out to the original poster...

. . . Note though that your logo's colour scheme is most likely to make it virtually invisible.

Take a slightly closer look...

But that was when there was an email hickup and that's over. And I thought you tested to subscribe to forums, as I have it? The OP only wants notifications for answers to his own posts.

That is correct, but bear in mind that I will not loose
any sleep over it as I visit all the coding forums to
which I am a member at least once a day. wacko.gif

I only get a broken image icon, followed by the ALT text "IPB Image". But when I open http://www.seaside-printing.co.uk/images/logo.gif directly I can see a large image. unsure.gif

Oh, can't remember what we did. I've enabled notification for all replies now...

Email notification seems to work for me (at least once so far). Make sure you haven't set it to daily or weekly digest...

These are my current settings...

Does that look correct or have I made an elementary schoolboy error? IPB Image

There's a dropdown as well, currently set to "No Email Notification".

Now I keep getting notifications even though I disabled it. wacko.gif

Edit: seems you have to stop existing subscribed Topics from another place (the Subscriptions menu).

Yep, as I half expected, I made an elementary schoolboy error. IPB Image

I don't have 20/20 vision and completely missed that dropdown. IPB Image
