I can't read the text and there's no way I can figure out to make it more readable, well, selecting it helps a bit. So for me usability is actually zero. sad.gif

It's a site in flash. That's why you can't change the text size to make it more readible.

I don't see any navigation, just a "launch project" and "contact us". There seems to be another "launch project" on the right, half off screen, to which I can't scroll.

There's a white box at the bottom left of the page, which seems to be a link, but clicking it does nothing.

I'm not impressed.

Not even Opera's text zoom helps. sad.gif But the text is not only small, it also has poor contrast and even looks a bit fuzzy.

It seems to be horizontal scrollbar made in Flash.

I get an image:

http://webdesign.toshiedo.com.au/___images/noflash.jpg

which is (oddly!) quite readable. But not much use, since the "HTML version" thing doesn't work. Frankly, if this is what they call "cutting-edge" somethingorother, I wouldn't bother looking further.

Thank you, I noticed it's Flash. biggrin.gif

There could, theoretically, be a text resize gadget built in, but I didn't see one.

I'm pretty sure I've used one. As a user, I mean. Don't flash much, me.

From what I've read, your reliance on Flash may have a negative effect upon your search engine rating: http://www.thesitewizard.com/sitepromotion...h-engines.shtml

Anyway, here are my suggestions (viewed from Firefox):

On the index page

I think the animation box is a problem. When the animation first started, I thought it was an intro, and I looked for the "skip intro" link and found none - then I realized it was a header and I'd have to scroll down to see any content because it and the navbar take up my entire browser window. Until I scrolled down and saw the byline, I didn't even know what Toshiedo is. Frankly, I think this box gets in the way: it's a barrier to usability. Maybe it could overlay the page and include a Close or Skip button; or maybe it could be set to minimize upon completion, with an option to expand if the visitor wants to see it again?

In the fifth box down (the one that contains the secondary navbar), there are some problems with content overflow. The Firm page is fine, but Recent Work sometimes features an ugly horizontal scrollbar (it's there when I access the page by following the Next button on The Firm, but not when I use the navbar). The content on Services and Products overflows the box and is clipped: on Services, only the tops of the Prev/Next buttons are visible; on Products, they aren't visible at all.

In the same box, for reasons of redundancy, I suggest you use either the navbar or the Prev/Next buttons, not both.

In the bottom box, the links for Google Sitemap, Valid XHTML, and Valid CSS, seem out of place to me and/or irrelevant and/or showy.

On pages other than the index

I think the secondary navbar is redundant and should be eliminated. It's additionally confusing because in one, the index page is called "overview," while in the other, it's called "home." At the very least, I think you should be consistent in your nomenclature; but I also think you should eliminate redundancy.

Overall, I think it's a nice-looking page. I like the look of all the little boxes, and I like their function too - kind of giving sneak-peaks of various internal links.
