i just need a plain scroll box with a hieght of 500px and a width of 290px. and a transparent background. but i want to be able to move it to a desired location on my myspace page.

I don't know anything about mySpace, but you could use the CSS overflow: auto to make an element (eg. a DIV) scrollable. Then, you can also use CSS to position the element.
