Hello!

I've been heavily dabbling with CSS and various coding, even though I really don't know what I am doing!
I run a blog and I am creating a new design... I used one of those free template downloads, and as nice as it is... I am having a lot of trouble customizing it!

Here is my site: http://moretesting411.blogspot.com/

As you can see, my header (which is actually a background, I did this so it would touch the top of the page) is off center. I have no idea why... since I centered it.

Please, the help would be much appreciated!!!

An ordinary image can also do that if you get rid of the default page margins browsers add. A header should perhaps be an inline image.

You tried to. happy.gif

CODE
background: url(http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg133/strawberry_koi/filmheader_5.jpg) no-repeat; top center;

The individual values for the background properties should be separated by a space. You do that, except after no-repeat you have a semi-colon. That kills what comes after.

ahh....I could kiss you! I've been crying and moaning for two hours and trying to figure it out. and it was just a darn semi colon! Thank you for the tip on just using an inlined image... I will work on that! smile.gif

Thank you so much!

I am also having trouble removing a white line that is going across the page, where I tried to take a borderline to "0"... any suggestions how to get rid of it? smile.gif

Thank you so much!
pandy
Do you mean the light green(ish) line that cuts the bottom corner of the image off?

And no kisses as long as the swine flu is around! biggrin.gif
Aya
Is it light green? My computer's colors are so bright... but YES, that annoying little line cutting off my graphic, would you have any idea how to get rid of it?? biggrin.gif

Oo, yes yes, no kisses then! Just big imaginary cookies instead biggrin.gif

I swear the line was greener and much longer yesterday. blink.gif

I think it's this hidden link that causes it, or rather the one pix image.

HTML
<a href='http://moretesting411.blogspot.com/' style='display: block'>
<img alt='moretesting' height='1' id='Header1_headerimg' src='http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ldA4rL3rgJc/SnTaATXaXLI/AAAAAAAAAKY/C_GiWkAdGpQ/S1600-R/pix.jpg' style='display: block' width='1'/>
</a>

I think I may have just fixed it... may I ask if you see anything on your end?

Thank you so much for your help... you've really taught me so much smile.gif

What? Don't use hidden links? tongue.gif

Yup. Looks fine now. smile.gif
