I'm in the process of redesigning my business' website. The original site was built when we had 1 location and since we have opened 2 more doors and added another service. The site is now clunky and poorly designed. Since we're really concerned with search engine placement my idea is to have 3 separately hosted sites with reciprocal links in order to help differentiate between each location and help improve our SEO standing.

Is this a waste of time and money? Should I use sub domains? (i.e. burbank.bestlittlecathouse.com, pasadena.bestlittlecathouse.com etc.) and keep them all on one server?
