Hi! Let me start off by saying that if this is something you are knowlegable in you are amazing!! Because I consider myself an intelligent person and I have been pulling my hair trying to understand the basics!

I am going to try to be as clear as possible but I can't make any promises!! LOL

I am a therapist who signed up as an adviser on ingenio.com. I have been trying to make my page more attractive and I know the basic html and have a colored background etc when I have tried changing it to something more artsy it is splitting the page. In other words it will show my ad (contains my ad, border around, feedback etc) but it is much skinnier and it is as if the page is split and out side the profile info there is this area where the background is but it is blank with no wording.

I am just sooo frustrated.

I am including a background I had tried. I just do not understand why the page is splitting and my profile info is in a much narrower column. Again, I am so sorry if this is not super clear. This is obviously NOT my expertise!!

Any help would be so sincerely appreciated!

What do you mean with "splitting"? That the background repeats? Backgrounds are supposed to that, although you can change that behavior with CSS. If you do, you probably want to use a matching background color to cover the areas that the background image doesn't cover.

Thank you so much for trying to help, I know I am not being very clear! I am trying!

When I say splitting I mean normally the profile info would cover the whole page, and I would like the background to also. But instead it is narrowing the profile info to half the page (almost like it is split in 2 columns) and on the other side it just shows the background.

I am so sorry to be in riddle here. I sincerely am grateful for any help

Are you sure you use that image as a background? Because a background doesn't affect how other items are layed out. Can you post the URL to a page showing this splitting?
