Hi,

I am currently maintaining a site for a local band in the Toledo, OH area. They pride themselves with Free Music and want fans and any website users to be able to easily download their MP3s.

I have some basic links setup linking to the path of the MP3 file, however when clicked, goes directly to another page which displays a QuickTime player. A user would have to Right Click on the link and Save Target As... in order to download it, which I have noted on the page.

I do not like this approach. I need something easier, you know, people want something easy. They see the word Download, click it and they cant download it, so they quit.

I am using Joomla to maintain the site, but am using HTML on the backend since I do not like the WYSIWYG editor provided.

The URL is:Empire Drift's Music

If you have any suggestions on how to accomplish this, please let me know! I appreciate any advice!

We're all the piratebay, eh? tongue.gif
(Referring to a song by that name, in case you don't know it. Realized afterwards it might sound ironic, but it isn't meant that way.)

I think it's perfectly fine as it is. People in general aren't stupid. Those that are are better off learning.

To do what you want you can either zip the files up or change the content-type to something that's unknown to browsers that will then ask if the file should be downloaded.
