Hi, I am very new to web design and am doing some for the company i work for. Someone has asked me to do some work on a personal web site for them (basic updating of information) I was just wondering what do people normally charge for something like that? I have never done anything like that and was just wondering like ballpark numbers so I don't under or over estimate. Thanks a lot!

I would like to know the answer to this, too. I have recently set-up a very simple website (including registering domain, registering with a host, some domain and host management, designing the site, etc.). Because this was for a close family member, we agreed on certain (low) prices beforehand, but if this person were to recommend me to someone else or were I to get type of work again, what are usual non-family prices? And how do people normally charge (by the hour, by the task)? Thanks.
