Hi everybody:

I am not sure if is here I should be asking the question. I apologize if i got it wrong.

I am literally new to the whole thing of creating templates (i learned a little this weekend).

I copied a source from a designed a like (a blog from blogspot) and decided to change it to adapt it to my personal site (or the idea of creating one).

I finish the whole design (it's very basic, but enough for me) but i have problems with tags. When i try to post the template into blogspot it gives me errors in the tags. I don't how to fix this as this is the first time i do this.

I appreciate if somebody could have a look and show me where i went wrong. I'll be happy to swap my skills as a translator (English-Spanish; Spanish-English) with anybody that needs so and is happy to help me.

Use the WDG validator (links at the top and bottom of this page) to find the markup errors. The advantage of that tool is that it links to corresponding pages in the HTML reference.

Thanks for that Frederiek. I had a look and it gives me a lot of errors i don't know how to fix (this is the first time i do this). Although the code in the original page is a lot better than what it use to.

Great!!!

That sounds good to you that know what you are doing. I haven't got a clue. This is the first time ever i try to do something like this. I can see the errors. Problem is that i don't know what to put instead; except for the li, that i got.

If you validated a document on a server somewhere, then it means that the server is sending

in the HTTP header. You can configure the server to send something else, but the details depend on the server. Check your server documentation.

If you validated a document by uploading a file, or by copy-pasting the XHTML directly, then it means you left the selection for the character encoding at the default ISO-8859-1 value. Since you include

in your XHTML, I assume that you intended to use UTF-8. For now, select UTF-8 in the validator form. Later, you can figure out how to configure the server to send

Actually, it seems you're using Apache, so you should be able to add
