Is there a downloadable version of HTMLhelp online WDG HTML Validator? My site is over 100 pages, and I'm looking for a free HTML validator that will validate a whole site. I heard that it is possible to download a local copy of the WDG HTML Validator for this purpose, but I can't find and source from which to download. Otherwise, can anyone recommend a good, free HTML Validator that validates a whole site even when it's over 100 pages. Thanks. smile.gif

It's linked from the validator page.

Is the purpose to do offline validation? In that case an easier way out may be to buy the exe version (linked from the above page) if you are on Windows. It's just $25 for life. No, I don't get a commission for saying this. I bought it almost 10 years ago and I'm still pleased with it. happy.gif

Yes, the purpose is to do offline validation. Thanks for the recommendation, and thanks for getting back to me.

I have Windows XP. Am I correct in understanding that if I download the three components -- (Version 1.2.2), lq-nsgmls (Version 1.3.4.14), and wdg-sgml-lib (Version 1.1.4) -- probably I wouldn't have a utility that functions as well as the online WDG HTML validator does?

Thanks again.

Yes, you can download the command-line tools from OpenJade and/or OpenSP and use them. I do that for my personal site, using makefiles to control the whole process.
