IE6/SP2's security settings don't let me view http://www.freewebs.com/film-ru/epoch_classes.js at all, but http://forums.htmlhelp.com/jscripts/ips_menu.js works (after some confusion about the "unknown publisher" of the .js file). Where in IE6/SP2's security settings are these things handled?

Don't let you view - do you mean the page won't open?
Explorer security, isn't that like military intelligence ohmy.gif
Christian J
I can open the HTML document at http://www.freewebs.com/film-ru/ but not view the particular javascript file. All I get is a security alert saying something like "The current security settings prohibits downloading this file". wacko.gif
jimlongo
The file /i.js doesn't exist?

Christian J
Both http://www.freewebs.com/film-ru/epoch_classes.js and http://www.freewebs.com/i.js exist, I can view them in my other browsers. But clicking on the links above in IE6 (newly upgraded to SP2) just opens the alertbox. huh.gif

Now I noticed that freewebs.com has been added to IE's "untrusted zone", probably by my anti-spyware program. Maybe that's the explanation.
pandy
Yeah, maybe. laugh.gif

You shouldn't let programs take control like that. Say after me: "I am the boss. I AM the boss". tongue.gif

It's a good enough theory until proven false! cool.gif

Just FYI I get that sometimes too. I had sort of forgotten until it happened again. I think it's both with js and css files. It only happens sometimes. I don't run XP and I don't have any bossy protective programs. blink.gif

Have you checked the Untrusted Zones (if you have those)?
pandy
It's nothing like that. A site can have several linked files and I can't get to one of them wheile there are no problems with the others. I can never view JS or CSS IN IE (can you?), but they normally open in my default editor. When this happens I get an error message instead.

Sounds strange. Maybe it's been corrupted?

Not with correct headers, no.
pandy
Maybe, but I think the problem has always been there. I'll post the URL for you next time it happens. Of course, now it will never happen again. wacko.gif
