Pretty clueless what im doing...Anybodys help is great! Okay I am wondering what I could use to help me build this. I have been using yahoo sitebuilder, but I am not sure if that is going to work. I was looking into getting either dreamweaver or adobe flash. Which would you suggest for my type of site? I want users to be able to register a username and upload videos which they can than vote for and make comments about and such. I need some help. Not sure if this stuff is possible through using HTML, but someone just help me get on the right track!! Thanks!!

Why bother? Why not just point them at Youtube? Is there really a special-interest aspect to this, or are you hoping to make money from it?

No, it isn't possible using just HTML.
Please see the FAQ entry
How can I allow file uploads to my web site?

You don't need any special program to do it though. It's all text.

Huh? Sorry, _what_ is "all text"?

Whatever language is used to make this all happen.

Yes but what i suspect the user really is hoping for is something pretty sophisticated . . . like uploads the video (simple enough), then embeds the video so people can play it back (easy to do by hand, but programatically not so easy - especially as it probably requires conversion to a common format), then allows people to vote and tabulates the votes (easy . . . well depends on your programming and database skills).

Now it's my turn to be confused. Sure it's complicated, but how can DW or Flash help with that? Or did I misunderstand you?

Who me, misunderstood . . . I don't understand how DW or Flash would help either . . . were you talking to me?

Well post #9 was a comment on Post #8, and Post 11 is a comment on Post 10. but post #7 was just a general comment on the OP.

The features the original poster is looking to implement in a web site can be most easily achieved by installing a content management system or framework. The open source Drupal or Joomla! projects are two examples which may meet his requirements.
