Hello,
I am working on a websight for a real estate agent ( http://www.home-sales.ca/test/home.html . I am using images as a background but i have come across a problem. When the browser is minimized the page no longer lines up correctly since the image doesn't get smaller along with the window. I am using tables to place my text where i want it to be.

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what would be the best way to fix this.

Thanks a lot
Darin McGrew
Positioning content over specific locations on a background image is an especially fragile way to design a page.

Furthermore, your "background" image contains a lot of "text" content that is now inaccessible if images are disabled, or if your visitor needs a larger font than your background image uses. I recommend using real text content, rather than a picture of text.

If it were mine, I'd start over.

the problem is i am doing this for a client and its the way he wants his page to look. I don't think i would have designed it this way really but i am just coding it for him.

Surely he didn't specifically say that he wanted the content positioned over a background images and a fixed width that's too wide for most people and that the content shouldn't be indexable by search engines?

If he wants the content pretty narrow and centered with a background image behind it, then give the content box a width, center it and use the background with the content box, not for the whole page.

Or rather use two background images. One with the logo, one with the guy. The text should be text, not an image of text.
