I was going to just use Photoshop and re-size the pics to 50 x 50, but I was wondering if someone knows of a better, free program I should be using to make thumbnails other than Photoshop? Maybe something that was able to get the file size even smaller? Or am I ok with Photoshop?

Resampling images for thumbnails is a pretty basic feature. Any graphics software should be able to do it, so the best graphics software is whatever you already have and are familiar with. If you already have Photoshop and are familiar with it, then go ahead and use it.

How much does a copy of Photoshop cost you?

Anyway, Irfanview is an often cited *lightweight* program that does just this sort of thing (maybe Windoze only?). If you want a full-featured program you could use the Gimp.

But as Darin said, the best one is the one you know already, supposing you do.

thanks I will use Photoshop. I was just checking to make sure there wasn't some state of the art program I was missing out on.

If you have a lot of images to resize the same way (at any size, but keep the aspect ratio in mind though), you can create an action and use the batch function in Photoshop. Watch Photoshop do the work for you! biggrin.gif
