im trying to create a webpage on dreamweaver 8 with html. i cant figure out why i cant put two different items on the same line. Ex. i want to dock two different table on the same line, one on the left of the page, and one on the right. i have tried about everything to make it possible, and i just cant do it. do i have to learn CSS to be able to make this work?

No, you don't have to learn CSS, but it wouldn't hurt to take a look at it sooner or later. You can also do what you with the 'align' attribute.
