So yeah, I am a newbie to all of this, have some basic skills, BUT I can't get this video to look right in all browsers. I have a mac, and it looks GREAT in Safari, but the second I use a different browser, it is NOT lined up at all. Can anybody help me? Is there something I am missing?
Here is the page...
http://www.thenewmonarchs.comIf you have safari, you'd see that the video fits the white frame perfectly. However, in other browsers is seems to be off center. Anything I can do?
Thanks in advance for the help!

So, what's the problem? It looks the same to me in Safari, Firefox, and Opera.

Try looking at it in IE.

I don't have access to MSIE at the moment. How does it butcher the page?
BTW, your reference to Safari has me wondering... Are you using MSIE on a Mac? If so, then you should know that it's a pretty obsolete browser.

No, I use Safari and Camino on my Mac.
I noticed it at work since most offices are too stubbord to avoid IE.

Not too bad in IE6. But I only get the sound. No video.

Click to view attachmentWell it is quicktime. So that may be why. I have no issues with the video, but more on how it doesn't sit the same on the page (inside the white frame) as it does in other browsers. Its like different browsers measure pizels differently. Why is this?

Well, as a general rule, trying to fit content into a particular box of a background image is a fragile design. It's especially fragile with text content (because you really don't know how big the text is going to be), but it's still fragile with other types of content.

Is there anyway to correct it?
Why does MSIE show it differently?

As a quick and dirty workaround, could you replace the white rectangle with an extension of the background image, so the video could be placed anywhere on the background image without it being obvious that it's in the "wrong" place?

Hi,
Take a look at how your scaling the movie from its native size, and I think you might need to add 16 pixels for the controller. hth.
