Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm having a problem gettining Flash Video into my Website. The message reads as follows:
'The URL cannot contain spaces or special characters. Change the path oe file name and try again'

Well I have read on different sites what to do and as far as I can tell I'm doing exactly what I was told, so I am now asking for specific help 'one on one' This is driving me nuts, does a forward slash count as a special character, if so how do I enter a path without them ?

As an old geezer I feel beyond my depth with this, but having said that I have written and published a websit just to see if I can do it and inserted Flash Video and got it up and running. I now feel that Front Page hasn't the power I need and want to play with Pro Tools and I've been told this is the place to find out.

I'm on a windows xp pro PC

Thanking you in anticipation

Pete

Hi Pandy,

Hope you can see this.

Oh, you get the error from some editor you are using? OK, then let's see the URL you try to enter.

Hi,

I have copied and pasted so many different ones and the the one that is in the box of screen capture, the
file is in the images folder of the web site.

I'm sorry, I didn't see it in the screenshot at first. There's nothing wrong with that URL, if you don't have a trailing space that is.

Thank you, I'm not going mad then, wacko.gif

I have read ten's of tuts and every one of them has done the same thing.
It could be a program error and needs installing again, it seems its the only thing
I havn't done. unsure.gif

I await an outcome, and thanks for such a prompt responce. biggrin.gif

It's a root relative URL (the slash in front) but surely DW must be able to handle that? unsure.gif

Im thinking that it tells you to enter flash video, SWF is not flash video FLV is flash video.
you have he wrong file type as far as I know.
you need to export movie as FLV and then insert, you cant stream standalone SWF only FLV.

Does your URL also start with a slash?
