i dont know anything about how forums work or thier limits but...
ive seen how forums can show a user member what topic discussions other user members are looking in. can that feature be added to a web site as its own enitiy without making a forum? the reason for that is i want people that come to my website to see what other websites im looking at - at that moment (so IF i am at a forum they know where to find me). but not so much at to pinpoint the exact location down to the last string of text in every extension of the address but a general 'point' in the direction. something like...

"Oh, right now he's at "http://forums.htmlhelp.com"."

but not

"He's at "http://forums.htmlhelp.com/index.php?act=post&do=new_post&f=13" right now!"

would that be a HTML thing or a Java Script thing?

No, not from a site. You mean it should show when you are at totally different sites, right? I'm sure it's possible but it would involve that you in some way report to your site where you are at. A brower plugin like the google toolbar and others that report back to daddy where the user is.

It's a cool idea though. I would be fun. Much more fun than those boring things that tell you what music people are listening to. happy.gif
