Novice here. Looking for the easiest way to display multiple images overlaying one another on a timed basis in the same display area. Example: I have a single area to display .jpeg images in. I want to show image(1) for maybe 5 secs., then overlay that same display area with image(2) for 5 secs., and continue this loop through image(6) and then repeat this loop again infinitely. A sample of software code to do this would be nice. Thanks!

That sounds like an image slideshow. You can find many such scripts at sites like Dynamicdrive or simply by googling.

You should make sure the images are accessible for browsers without javascript. If the slideshow doesn't degrade gracefully you might place all the images in a <noscript> element.
