I am designing a form and want the background of the inputs to be white. In my Firefox browser, the default background color is yellow. Even when I add the code for the background style into the CSS, it is still yellow in Firefox.
What is the secret?

Style form controls with CSS

You have some automatic form filling tool on and it's marking the fields that can be auto-filled. IIRC FF has one of those built in. For example the Google toolbar does the same thing.

Is there any way to turn that automatic form filling tool off? Also, I assume that there is no override? I know we can't control what the end user has set up on their browser but I WANT TO! HA. . .

I don't know if FF does it. I always disable stuff like that when I install them. I know Opera does it (a border) and the Google toolbar (at least for IE) does it (yellow background). Check in options or if you have some extension that can be responsible.

I only know how to disable it from a web page for the googlebar.

Have you considered renaming your form fields so the browser doesn't recognize them as fields it can auto-fill?
