Link exchanges and directories are not exactly ideal for SEO. I'm sure the guy that works at Google that posts here will tell you that.

How can an automated/directory/swapped link show that people validate your website as a good information source? It's too open to spam to be a worthwhile metric.

Although Google does show a lot of sites at #1 even when they have blatent spam links...

i strongly recommend to use ready made software such as webceo, seoelite etc..

kindly review all such software and select one as per your requirement.
