Hi,

I know how to use the most basic frames for splitting the window but I'm stuck on the content side of things. Basically I want to have a left frame and a right frame. The left frame is the menu and the right frame is the content. If I put a HTML link in the left menu and click on it then the content loads in the left menu but it should load in the right hand frame.

Does anyone know how to do it?

I found think link: http://www.javascriptkit.com/frame2.shtml but this is not what I want. My links in the left menu are to external sites which I need to keep in the right hand content frame so the user can easily navigate back to my site.

The sites you link to might not like to get framed in your site.

That said, all you need is to set a TARGET in your links, see this FAQ entry.

Every browser I've used has had a convenient history mechanism. Usability studies show that the back button (or equivalent) is the second most-used navigation tool; only links are used more often. Your visitors can get back to your site if they want to. The key is to make them want to, by providing content they want.
