Qumana is a company that produces a free blog editor. Presumably the way they make revenue is to also run a unique advertising business which is extremely simple to implement, especially when you utilize their blogging tools.

Here's a short summary of the Q-Ads program:

• Ads are implemented in the form of images. There is no text, only a link to an image server at Qumana.
• You choose the type of ad you wish to appear by selecting the appropriate keyword for the place you wish to implement the ad. This means it is not a contextual ad, and can be used on the same page as Google AdSense.
• The number of ad keywords is fairly limited, though there is an adquate selection.
• Publishers receive 50% of the revenue collected by Qumana, 30 days after they actually collect from the advertiser.

In my experience, 50% is a rather generous cut of commission for an ad company to keep, though this service is pretty unique in that I'm not aware of any competitor that implements ads in the same way.
