I need some changes in script in the gallery so the dates and amounts don't show up per folders. I have a few bit of folders. This was the suggestions on how to do it at http://coppermine-gallery.net/forum/index.php?topic=39872.0

I know nothing about scripting, etc.

I'm surprised anyone posts on Coppermine's boards - that GauGau fellow has almost zero social skills and really shouldn't be on the Internet dealing with human beings at all. It's a capital offence to ask the same question twice with him. Unbelievably uptight individual...

Yes, Coppermine is a GPLed product and they don't *have* to help you with anything, as the software comes with zero guarantees.

My advice is to migrate to Gallery. It can do anything Coppermine can, is free and the support crew are infinitely more welcoming and friendly.

I know this at first hand as I used it for over four years.

As for not knowing any scripting, not even a skerrick, I recommend you do learn at least the rudiments, as *any* tinkering with a complicated PHP script like Coppermine or Gallery will involve some knowledge of what's going. It's inescapible.

http://gallery.sourceforge.net/ for Gallery.

Huh? Don't follow. GPLed has nothing to do with whether the software is guaranteed - have you ever tried finding what sort of guarantee M$ (for example) gives for its software. What GPL means most importantly is that the software comes with the source, and permission to fix it, or of course to pay someone else to fix it.

You're right. I never said that it did. I was stressing the fact that they (Coppermine) aren't obligated to help in any way or shape or form.

Edit: The word I should've used is warranty.

GauGau is a bit uptight, but hey, I use his (free) Coppermine and think it very fine. Plus if everyone does ask him the same question twice, he'd be answering several thousand questions a month.
Peter1968
*shrug* - he has to anyway. He took on the coppermine project, so the questions come with the territory. You reap what you sow, after all.
